FLASH 15
SS 15 Kudlovice (22,42 km)
Sunday, August 29, 2004, 12:52
Simon Jean-Joseph (starting number 2, Renault Clio S1600):
„The last two stages were very difficult. – I would like to thank to the organizers. This rally is well organized. I think the best in Europe.“
Josef Peták (starting number 12, Peugeot 306 Maxi):
„The last stage was very hard. We were afraid whether we get to the finish at all because we have seen the finish for the first time here. So we became the republic champions.“
Jan Štěpánek (starting number 22, Subaru Impresa Sti)
„We released the last stage a little because there was no sense to rush anywhere. It does not mean we would not go, I just want to say that we slackened a bit. We are satisfied with the result. I regret that yesterday’s axel-driving shaft. Anyway, the car is going as it should now – we are the only hear with Subaru.“
Václav Arazim (starting number 7, Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VII):
„The ride was very bad. To hold the position was the main aim. One wheel punctured on the ninth kilometre so we drove some thirteen kilometres on rim. Quite exhausting – it is no fun to go so many kilometres on disc. We are glad we kept the position.“ There was a wheel with amply abradable brink lying on the back seat of his racing car.
Miroslav Jandík (starting number 4, Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VII):
„We were driving with certainty and quite fast. There was nothing to spoil. There was no reason to change our strategy.“
Miroslav Cais (starting number 16, Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VII):
„I had the same rhythm all the time. There is much sand on the road so we went rather slowlier. In Žlutava we flew out of the road and had a giant luck – we were nearly scrapped. One more thing I have to do is sayin thanks to the fans. We could hear their scream even in the car. The first rally day it was nothing much but then they improved very much and there were crowds of them everywhere.“
Jindřich Štolfa (starting number 25, Nissan Almera Kit Car):
„We had some head start before the Cais’s crew and so there was nowhere to hurry. We saved our car, tried not to puncture, we were waving to people. The car went without problems. I am very satisfied.“
Jean-Pierre Van de Wauwer (starting number 17, Citroen Saxo Kit Car):
„We were nine seconds after the last N4. Now we are the ninth and second in our classification. The SS was hard because there were many cars before. If we have money we will come next year again.“
