Welcome in Zlín!
The Barum rally has a big tradition and this year will be organised for the 33rd time. The rally sport is an extremely popular sporting line in Czech Republic which demonstrate hundred thounsands of enthusiastic fans along the route of special stages, at the Barum rally over 200 000 spectators every year. The Barum rally based in Moravian town Zlín, was incorporated to the European Rally Championship from the year 1983. Last year participated 132 competitors from 11 different countries in the rally. There were 15 vehicles WRC and 8 FIA B drivers on the start.
A significant attention is also paid to the rally from the part of journalists. Last year 170 press people from 6 countries were accredited (37 TV and radio studios, 65 journalists, 53 photographers). The Rally Headquarters as well as the start and the finish are in the town Zlín. The Barum rally performance will begin with the shakedown in the morning and the scrutineering with presence of public in the afternoon on 28 August. The rally will be run with 3 legs (29 - 31 August) including about 309 kms of solely tarmac special stages. The farthest place from the rally center is only 40 kms. Zlín is spred in the valley and it is surrounded with wooded small hills offering splended scenery and diverse landscape.
