allow me, on behalf of Barum Rally Zlín 2005 organizing team, to welcome you in the Press Centre of the 35th edition of the Barum Rally Zlín. This year, it will be driven as a part of the European Championship and for the first time, also as a candidacy World Championship competition! Zlín´s Rally, which celebrates a half-round jubilee this year, belongs to the most important motor-events in the Czech Republic. After the successful status of the European Championship, we have decided our new aim - to have the Barum Rally Zlín as the elite rally of the World Championship. I hope the service of Press Centre will belong to those criteria, with which the Barum Rally Zlín will already belong to the World Championship level.

As usual, we try to offer you a high-quality service standard. In the special publication for journalists called MEDIA SAFETY BOOK all the important information, e.g. Press Centre working hours, spectator places, etc. can be found. Before the competition, you received all the necessary information in publications RALLY GUIDE 1, RALLY GUIDE 2. In the scrutineering and in Otrokovice service zone, the special mix zone for drivers interviews are prepared for you. We expect a huge interest of both home and foreign media representatives this year. We try to maximally serve your requirements and answer your questions

35th edition of the Barum Rally Zlín has a long tradition and it will be driven for the 22nd time as the European Championship. For the higher competition attractivity, the organisers prepared two novelties for the Czech tracks. One is the introduction of Super Rally system, which is used also for the World Championship this year. Another novelty is the town SS in the heart of Zlín, which will be driven in reverse starting list order at 8.03 p.m. on Friday, 19 August. You can watch the cars from Thursday. There is a shakedown in the completely new Machová section on, the first cars will be seen at 4.00 p.m. The public scrutineering in Zlín square in front of the Town Hall is on from 8.00 p.m. on Friday, the start for the Rally begins at 5.00 p.m. The winner will be known at 3.43 p.m. on Sunday, 21 August, when the best crews will reach the finish. After the finish, the Press Conference will be held in the Conference Hall. Press Centre will be situated in the Regional Authority of the Zlín Region Building, where also the Really Headquarters can be found.
