Barum Czech Rally Zlín has obtained the highest evaluation in its history!

The 39th Barum Czech Rally Zlín finished more than two months ago. The organizers of the Autoclub Barum Zlín received an extensive observer’s report which is very positive and evaluates this year’s Barum Czech Rally Zlín very highly. The rally obtained the best evaluation among eleven events of the FIA European Rally Championship and is one of the top rallies of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC).

This year’s edition was successful also with regard to its sport side. After eight years a Czech crew with a Czech car won the rally again. The victory of Škoda Motorsport crew Jan Kopecký, Petr Starý with a Škoda Fabia S2000 is one of the highest experiences of this year’s season. The FIA observer for this year was Ludo Peeters from Belgium. The organizers, led by a long-term head of the rally Miloslav Regner, obtained a very positive report even last year from Jordi Parra Vidal from Spain. This year’s evaluation exceeded all expectations. “The observer’s report is very positive, the best one in the history of the rally. We have never obtained as positive report as this. It is even more surprising because Mr. Peeters is a very strict observer. We obtained 1278.5 points in total,“ said Miloslav Regner, clerk of the course. The observer praises the Barum Czech Rally Zlín on fifteen pages of the report. “As very positive he evaluates the promotion of the rally before and during the event, a very professional organizing team and experienced oficers, all documentation and printed materials with emphasis on a precise safety plan and of course safety of the event. Also the electronic GPS system of crew monitoring, safety readiness, spectators’ super special stage in night streets of Zlin, numerous entry list and enormous interest of spectators at special stages are highly evaluated,“ said Regner. Peeters also mentioned a very appropriate choise of spectators’ places, unusual awareness of the spectators, high visit rate at both ceremonial start and arrival of the crews into finish with the final ceremony and flawless cooperation with police and other services. “We would like to thank the Police of the Czech Republic for flawless cooperation and all spectators along the track for exemplary behaviour,“ said clerk of the course. According to official data, the Barum Rally was watched by 265,000 spectators!

The Barum Rally was held as part of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge supported by the Eurosport satellite channel for the third time. “Also the representatives of Eurosport evaluate this year’s edition as excellent. They say we are one of the best events with regard to attitude, readiness, entry list etc. You can see the increase number of media and ratings. Eurosport started with spectacular broadcasting including many live broadcasting at Rallye Monte Carlo in January, “ said Ing. Jan Regner, deputy clerk of the course of Barum Czech Rally Zlín. The organizers have a contract with Europosrt Events, the promotor of IRC, for the next year. “What will come next is still a matter of discussion. IRC is a very progressive championship. While the world championship is a little stagnant, the IRC is attracting famous names and factory teams. Next year event famous world rallies, such as Argentina, Sardinia and Cyprus will be part of the IRC,“ said Jan Regner.

Zlin organizers already know the date of the anniversasy 40th Barum Czech Rally Zlín 2010. It will also be part of the FIA European Rally Championship, Intercontinental Rally Challenge and International Rally Championship of the Czech Republic from 27th to 29th August 2010. “The time at the end of the summer holidays proved to be good. A week before the Barum Rally the Deutschland Rally in terms of the world championship is held. We are preparing many surprises for the spectators next year,“ concluded Miloš Regner.
