Wulf Biebinger from Germany will be this year’s FIA observer in Zlin

FIA has announced nominations for key officers for the 40th Barum Czech Rally Zlin. The organizers received excellent evaluation of observer reports and references by individual FIA officers praised the event in the past years. Nevertheless, the organizers still care about the slightest details.
Wulf Biebinger is coming to Zlin as an FIA observer for the third time. He came to Zlin in 2001 and then in 2005 when the Barum Rally was a candidate for the world championship. He knows the Zlin region and the atmosphere very well. “He is coming to Zlin along with his lovely wife. He knows the rally very well as he’s coming for the third time. He’s looking forward to new stages which he didn’t know in the previous years. He’s coming to the Czech Republic by car in advance and he’s going to have a holiday before the rally. He’s going to go to South Moravia because he loves local wine,“ said Marta Regnerová, secretary of the Barum Czech Rally Zlín. Mr Biebinger is famous for his sense of detail and order. Let us believe he will be as satisfied as last year’s observe Ludo Peeters from Belgium.
Claude Maccario from Monaco is coming to the Czech Republic and the president of stewards of the meeting. “Mr. Maccario has also been to Zlin twice. He lives in Monte Carlo and this year he’s coming here without his wife as she has obligations with their grandchildren,“ said Regnerová. Andy Lasure from Belgium will be once of the stewards of the meeting. “He knows the Czech Republic and Zlin region very well. He’s coming with his wife Lilien and they are looking forward to coming,“ said Regnerová. Another steward of the meeting will also be Tomáš Kunc from the Czech Republic, known from the previous years as a competitors´ relations officer. This year he will have been a steward of the meeting for the third time. For the ninth time a FIA technical delegate is coming to Zlin and will watch over technical matters. This year it will be Lionel Carre from France. “He’s coming on Wednesday to familiarize with all materials and environment. The scrutineering will take place in the Zlin sport hall on Thursday evening,“ said Regnerová.
The ASN safety delegate will be Jan Mochan, chief scrutineer will be Stanislav Mrkvan, chief timekeeper will be Eva Skýpalová. The competitors’ relations officers will be Wolfgang Gastorferfrom Germany and Barbora Nováková from the Czech Republic.
